Family Reunion

Well we had our Ellis Family Reunion for the year, and yes of corse it was a blast. We had it here in Wendell. Everyone came and pitched their tents in Stephanie and Larry's Yard, and we played game and ate food in mine. We played Volleyball on one of the days and that turned out really good. All of the most competative people got put on a team, Heath, David, and Derrick. Well all of the most competitive people except for me.But I didn't really have a right to be because I was big and pregnant an really couldn't do anything great, but that doesn't mean that I wasn't tickeled pink when Kip, who was on my team, slammed it down David's throat a couple of times. KIP ROCKS!!!! He's the volleyball master.
On Saturday the plan was that the boys would go boating but it was too windy so most of the boy went to the movie's. They went to see G-I-Joe, which according to Matthew has "the most beautiful women he has ever seen" in it. Hahaha! All of the women stayed and did crafts with the kids. After we were done with that we put kids down for their naps but Whitney wouldn't go, she was having to much fun watching Mollie paint her nails. finally Whitney decided she wanted some and sat down in front of Mollie putting her foot right in Mollie's line of vision and said "please". So aunt Mollie was nice and painted her nails. Well in was not long before we all were painting our nails. So fun!! Leejean I hope you don't mind that we used your nail pollish. hehe!
Oh and I sunday it was sunny and there was no wind. God Definatly has a sence of hummor. On sunday we did a talent show. Mom gave all the kid and instrument and got them to play. There was many great acts, singing dancing, Preston sleeping, magic tricks, story telling, and Berny cracked his big bolewip a couple of times. My husband is so cute.

Whitney had so much fun, she wore herself out. She fell asleep in the middle of eating her lunch.

Makeup disaster

Whitney is already learning how to put on makeup. I walked in on her while she was drawing on her face with one of my makeup pencils and making silly faces in the mirror. It was so funny that I couldn't even be mad. When she saw me there she decided that she wanted to do my makeup too and this was the outcome. pretty good for a little lady.

Whitney's Grandma Debbie

So Whitney has decided that she really likes Papa Marquez's hat and sun glasses. Whenever she can get a hold of them, she will take them and put them on herself. The problem is that Papa does not take his hat off very often and his sun glasses are always right there on top of his hat. So, she is usually finding the hat and glasses on his head removing them swiftly and putting it on herself. So to solve this problem Grandma Debbie went and bought Whitney her own hat and sun glasses. That was when we discovered that it probably was not the accessories that she liked but more taking them off of Papa, because she was not too fond of grandma's gifts. To help her like the gifts more, Grandma put them on herself and sure enough Whitney took them off, after she laughed at how silly Grandma looked of course. But it must just be a special game between Whitney and her grandparents because when I put them on she just laughed and did not attempt to do anything that would make mommy look any less silly.

Little Red Ridding Brat!

This year I was able to direct the school play at the Richfield High School. The play was called "The True Story of Little Red Ridding Hood. It was the story of Red but it was from the wolfs point of view, so of course it was not the wolfs fault that he got blamed for trying to eat grandma and Red. We saw in the play that Red was actually a really bratty little girl who was rude to everyone she met including the wolf and all his animal friends. So the wolf make a plan with Red's grandma, who also thinks that Red is a brat, to scare Red Ridding Hood strait. But the plan backfired when Grandma, who is very old, forgets the plan and goes off look for the hansom woodsman. So the poor wolf gets blamed for trying to eat Red when he is a vegetarian. Poor guy!
The play turned out really funny. Robbie Schmidt played the grandma and did such a good job at being an old woman. He made me laugh for days. Luke Wood and Miranda Hall played the wolf and Red and were both very entertaining.
The play was a musical, and I was so impressed that for a school who has no music program they have a lot of kids who can sing (and Dance, hehe!).

Here is our wolf Luke Wood. He really got into his part and his mom did an awsome job at putting his costume together. We had no budjet for this program so everything that we used was either scrounged up, donated, or the kids parents made it.

These are all the animal friends. They were the comic relief and they did a lot of dancing, especially when they needed to get away from the smell of the skunk. Red did not make him very happy. :) They also each had singing parts. The animals were played by Dallin Tree as the skunk, Lea Piper as the deer, Tucker Smith as the raskally rabbit, and Tandra Godin as the butterfly. I also had Hayley Falkner who was in charge of the set, which turned out incredible and Dan Derand who played the director. Dan's part was funny because he and the wolf would fight because the wolf had a hard time following the script. Zack Wood play the hansom Woodcutter that Grandma was so captivated by.

Ok, so I have not written in a very long time and many things have happend. First
0f all, for those who have heard rummors about us the answers is yes...... Yes we did move to Wendell. We really like it and enjoy living right accross the street from Stephanie and Larry. Oh ya and YES...... I am pregnant. hehehe! I am about 15 weeks along in my pregnancey and am starting to get a little belly.

Derrick and Shannon's new house

A few Weekends ago we all got together to help Shannon and Derrick put sheet rock up in their, soon to be, new house. I am so excited for them, it is going to be a really amazing house Derrick is so good at what he does. This winter, instead of sitting around, he started building Shannon this house and now they are almost done. It was really fun helping them work on it too. Shannon gave us the grand tour, While Berny and David went to work strait away putting up sheet rock on the ceiling in the garage. Whitney, Deacon, and Hallie went outside to play in the mud. Whitney was so excited that she had someone to get dirty with her. Mom was so great she watched all the kids so that we could help Derrick put up the sheet rock in the dinning and living room. For lunch we had a B-B-Q in their soon to be living room. Hallie and Deacon got so tuckered out that they both fell asleep in one of the soon to be bedrooms and I thought that Whitney might soon follow but she never did all she wanted to do was to get up on those high wall with the rest of us. She would stand right under us with her hands up saying "UUUUUP PEES, UUUP." It was so cute finally aunt Shannon brought her up. After we finished for the day we went to Derrick and Shannon to see their new puppies. They are full blood hounds and they were so cute. Whitney wasn't sure if she liked them at first but once she warmed up to them I couldn't get her away. She thought they were her puppies.

Easter at Grandma Great's house!

When I was growing up we had a tradition that during Easter time where we would have a big Easter egg hunt out on Grandma and Grandpa Dalton's farm. Well the tradition faded away as we got older and soon we stopped doing it all together. Now we have started it back up again and I am so excited. Whitney had so much fun with all of her cousin and the food was great. We started with an Easter egg hunt for all the really little kids, like Whitney, and then had a hunt for the older kid. After all the hunting fun we had an really good pot luck lunch and my Uncle Rex made his famous dutch oven chicken. Some time after that we had a program that I missed because Shannon and I were playing games with all the little kids. Games like red rover, tag, etc. To me that was probably the funnest part of the day. After the program all the parents thanked Shannon and I for watching there kids so that they could see the program. We laughed because we didn't even realize that was what we were doing, we were just having fun. HEHEHE!! That's funny.

Red Rover Red Rover send Shannon right over!! I could not believe how tough some of these kid where. Joshua go cloths lined so many time I think he thought that was what the game was really about and started tackling kid for no reason. It was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen.

Easter Morning Breakfast, she really knows how to make a mess!!
